You may choose between UTF8, Ansi, and Unicode.
'Extended alignment codes' is default option for .srt files, so that a form of pseudo-raised subtitles as well as horizontal alignment is now supported by that format, but only on 9 fixed points on the entire video screen:
Upper Left, Upper Center, Upper Right
Middle Left, Middle Center, Middle Right
Lower left, Lower Center, Lower Right
This is also supported on video clips with embedded subtitle streams, which is mostly in .srt format.
