How to calibrate files without superimposed time code

Well - that's a tough one, as Sub Machine's calibration system depends on that superimposed time code being there.

Obviously, it can't be done, but you may still work normally with such a video clip and recut it later on another subtitling system.

If the clip is accompanied by an .edlv file, it is no problem, however. Just make sure that the .edlv file has the same name as the clip and is placed in the same folder. And if it's a Windows media file with SMPTE time code, Sub Machine will start scanning the clip to find the time code.
